The Nature of Water
There is a feature in nature called the path of least resistance. This path is not found in the circumstances, the path is found in navigating the circumstances. Whenever I take the time to observe a river I start to notice a familiar pattern. The river never struggles, it may run into frequent dead ends along its journey to meet to ocean but it always gets to the ocean in an effortless manner.
My Human Nature
For good or for bad I am not a special little snowflake. It is true that I may have talents that are uniquely me but I am no different to anyone else and indeed from nature itself. It is in my nature to meet with dead ends and navigate around them. It is in my nature to travel to meet the ocean and recognise when I am there.
Navigating My Reality
My reality is exactly what it says on the tin. I can choose to reject what I perceive to be judgements of good or bad but my reality doesn't work that way. I have begun to realise that rejecting something that I judge to be bad does not magically make this disappear, it just reinforces my feelings of rejecting and escapism. In these moments in am lost in a world of seeing what isn't instead of what is. When I meet a dead end I have the choice to choose to believe that the ocean doesn't exist or like the river I can regain my bearings and embrace the path of least resistance.
